Privacy Policy — Widgnest
1. Summary
Widgnest ("the App", "we", "us") is a home-screen widget app published by Designer2 j.d.o.o. The App is designed to work on your device. We do not run accounts, we do not show ads, we do not use analytics or third-party trackers, and we do not sell or share your personal data. The only data that leaves your device is what is needed to fetch live content for the widgets you choose to use (see section 3).
2. Data the App uses only on your device
Depending on which widgets you add and the permissions you grant, the App may read the following on your device only. This information is used solely to render your widgets and is never collected by us, never transmitted off the device, and never shared:
- Calendar events (Agenda / Next Meeting widgets)
- Photos / media you pick (Photo Frame, This Day Last Year)
- Contacts (optional birthday import)
- Health Connect steps and sleep (Steps / Sleep widgets)
- App usage / screen time (Screen Time widget)
- Bluetooth paired-device names and battery (Bluetooth Battery widget)
- Installed apps list (app-shortcut widgets)
- Microphone, used live only while the in-app decibel meter is open — no audio is recorded or stored
- Your chosen wallpaper image
You can deny or revoke any of these permissions in Android Settings; the related widget simply won't show that data.
3. Data sent off your device
When you add a widget that shows live data, the App fetches that data over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection from the public services listed below. These requests carry no account, no advertising identifier and no personal profile, and we do not use them for tracking. As with any internet request, your device's public IP address is necessarily visible to the service receiving the request. We operate no servers of our own and store none of this data.
- Weather, air quality and city search — Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com). If you use a weather or air-quality widget and choose your current location or type a city, your approximate or precise coordinates (or the city text you type) are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve the forecast for that place.
- Cryptocurrency prices — CoinGecko (api.coingecko.com). The Crypto widget fetches public coin prices when you haven't entered your own. No personal data is sent.
- Currency exchange rates — er-api (open.er-api.com). The Currency widget fetches public exchange rates. No personal data is sent.
- Space weather (aurora) — NOAA SWPC (services.swpc.noaa.gov). The Aurora widget fetches the global planetary K-index. No personal data is sent.
- Your public IP address — ipify (api.ipify.org). The Network Info widget asks ipify for your device's current public IP solely so it can display it to you on your home screen.
You can avoid every one of these requests by not adding the corresponding widget. No other data is transmitted off your device.
4. Purchases
Widgnest offers a single one-time "Unlock Pro" purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never receive or store your payment-card details. Your purchase status is kept on your device and can be restored by Google Play after a reinstall.
5. What we do not collect
The App does not collect your name, e-mail, phone number, device identifiers, advertising IDs, or browsing history, and it uses no analytics SDKs (Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook SDK, etc.). No user account is required, and there are no ads.
6. Permissions and why
- Internet / Network state — fetch weather and the other live data above.
- Location (coarse / fine / background) — weather for your current location; background only if you opt in to auto-updating location.
- Calendar — show your upcoming events.
- Photos / media — show photos you choose.
- Contacts — optional birthday import.
- Health Connect (steps, sleep) — show your fitness data.
- Usage access — show your screen-on time.
- Bluetooth — list paired devices and their battery.
- Exact alarm — keep clock widgets minute-accurate.
- Set wallpaper — apply a wallpaper you pick.
- Microphone — live sound-level meter only (no recording).
7. Children
Widgnest is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the App does not require an account.
8. Data retention and your rights
Because we do not collect or store your personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf. All app data lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App. If you have any question about privacy, contact info@designer2.org.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
